My 2015 London Bucket List

Hi friends,

So this spring break a dream of mine is coming true! I will finally be getting to visit the city of my dreams, London! I cannot put into words how excited I am. However, with only about a month or so to plan I decided to create my own bucket list and see how much of it I can accomplish on my trip! If you have any suggestions please comment and let me know!

My London Bucket List

1. See Les Mis, Billy Elliot, and Wicked in the West End! ( How could someone go to london and not see a musical...or 3)

2. Go to the Palace of Westminster

3. Take a ride on the London Eye

4. Have afternoon tea at a tea room ( Cheesy but it's my bucket list so hush)

5. Shop at Selfridges and Harrods ( heart eyes emoji at the two biggest stores in Britain)

6. Go to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

7. Visit the Tower Bridge ( Its my first time going, so it is a must)

8. Go to the Portobello road market in Notting Hill

9. Visit the famous Notting Hill bookshop (Notting Hill is one of my favorite movies so duh)

10. Visit Hatchards (the oldest bookshop in England)

These are only a few of the things I want to do, but these are definitely some of the things I must do while I am there!

Why I Love Rent So Much

Hi Friends,

So if you didn't know, I love musicals. Now, I am no expert and I am not nearly as knowledgeable about musicals as some of my friends are *cough Mary and Mason cough* but I do love love love going to see them or if I am not lucky enough to see them live watching online or movie versions of them is usually just as good!

However, today I wanted to talk about one of my favorites and my current obsession, Rent. Rent is a rock style musical written by Jonathan Larson. It is somewhat based on Giacomo Puccini's La Boheme and it is about a group of artists living in New York City's East Village and struggling to survive while living with aids. Jonathan Larson never got to see his work put on to the big stage because he passed away the night before the Off Broadway premiere. However, he was still able to have a huge effect on so many people's lives.

This musical pushes all the limits, as it even pushes them today it pushed even more when it came out in 1996. This musical involves everything that people love to not talk about. It has interracial relationships, transvestites, homosexual relationships, and a very deadly disease with no cure. It captures all of those things in a wonderful way that you really can see we are all just humans trying to make the most of our lives and trying to have a little fun even during the hardest of times. This musical also talks about how it is okay to be different and that we should love each other and ourselves for who we are.

If you have never seen the musical I really recommend it! I also recommend you watch it with an open mind. However, I understand this musical is not for everyone. If you do desire to watch it, the movie version is on netflix and if you do not have an account I am sure you can find another online version! And if you want a truly great experience, I suggest watching the online version of the actual broadway production on youtube!

I hope everyone has been enjoying their new year and are keeping up with their resolutions!

New Year's Resolutions!

Hi friends!

Wow, it has been six-ish months since I have blogged. I always say I will keep up with it  and haven't really ever followed through with that but this year I really am going to change that and stick with it! I hope that everyone had a great holiday season and is as excited about the new year as I am!

As 2015 has begun it's time that we start putting those new year's resolutions into action. I feel like every year everyone makes these really broad resolutions and do them for about a week or so maybe even a month, but then we just go back to our usual comfortable lives that we had back in December. However, this year we should all put in that extra effort to truly make a difference and change in our lives! I really do love new year's resolutions because it can really help someone see everything as a new fresh start! So this year I challenge everyone to make at least 5 resolutions. Now, write them down and post them somewhere where you will see them everyday this way you will be able to see them everyday and even if you don't stick with them for the whole year at least try to make it two months!

Here are my 5!

1. Write a journal entry everyday!
2. Workout for at least 30 minutes everyday!
3. Make more meals at home instead of eating out!
4. Post on here at least twice a week!
5. Cut out all sugary coffee drink! (if you know me you know this will be hard)

As I said before I hope you all had a great holiday and I hope you all have had a great start to your new year!

Here are some of the highlights of my 2014!
