Hi friends,
So in the past few months I have been traveling places almost every other week. I went to Austin, then a week later I went to London, then two weeks after that I went to Indianapolis, and I just got back less than 24 hours ago from Philadelphia, and I can honestly say I am slightly heartbroken that this past weekend was my last bit of traveling for a few months. I love love love going to different cities and getting to see other cities cultures and the people and just how other people interact.
Every thing about trips and vacations make me happy. It all starts out with the airport. Airports are probably one of my favorite places in the world. It is by far the best place to people watch and it is absolutely mind blowing to me how so many people from all over the world, from all different cultures, are all stuffed in one big building, like just think about all the stories and experiences that are just sitting in that one building. When I take trips I like to get to the airport about two hours early even if I know that it will not take that long to get through security just because I like being at airports. Its comforting and humbling.
After spending a couple hours in my happy place (the airport), then it is time to get on the plane. Everyone has their personal preference for which seat they like whether it be isle, middle, or window (even though I am pretty sure no one likes middle seats) but I always want a window seat. On my trip to london having a window seat was the coolest thing ever. I flew at night so whenever I passed big cities I could just see the cities lights and it was incredible. Also I think drinks and food just taste better when you are flying, and I am almost positive I am the only person in the world that thinks this.
Now after spending hours upon hours in the air, the fun truly begins. Now you get to go and see the city you have been waiting for. My biggest experience with a culture change was during my trip to London but I do believe every city I have been to has it's own unique vibe. I try to eat or at least get coffee at some local place most places I go but that does not always happen. I do this because I think when you do this you can pretend just for a moment that you are in a different life and you can be whoever it is that you want to be. That moment is probably my favorite thing about traveling.
The worst part of trips for me is always coming home, not because I don't like my home, I just rarely want to leave this exciting unknown territory that I just spent time in. However, their is something comforting about the flight home when you can look out the window and see you city and know that you truly are home.
I bit the traveling bug early and I plan to spend the rest of my life traveling around and seeing much more of the world.
What has been your favorite trip you have ever taken? Let me know in the comments section below!
Until Next Time,
Morgan
