10 Little Things That Made Me Happy

Hi friends,

So this week was a strangely relaxing week. I felt I could catch up with all my friends for the first time in a while because of all my traveling lately. I think this week it kind of hit me for the first time that I will officially be done with high school in four weeks! That is crazy. I move out in 2 and half months. That is crazier.

With all these events coming up so fast I have been left with very mixed feelings. I am excited, yet very scared. I am happy, but also a little sad. I am ready for it to be here already, but I also wish I had a little bit longer left at home. However, all these mixed feelings and emotions have just made me realize how important it is for me to make the most of everything, everyday.

I know I am a day late on this post, but I was soooo tired yesterday I could barely brush my teeth last night let alone try and write a post! So here goes week number 3!

10 Little Things Week 3

1. My run at the lake Monday morning..it was weird literally no one was there but it was also so beautiful
2. Finding my prom dress!
3. My coffee this morning!
4. There was this moment when I was at one of my best friends senior teas, that I sat around a table filled with people I love and I just realized in that moment how perfect life can be sometimes!
5. Seeing one of my old coaches and getting to catch up with her and her husband!
6. Playing with puppies with my friend sofia!
7. hearing from an old teammate and getting to hear about how her life is going!
8. finishing season 1 of Once Upon A Time, seriously yall...it is so dang good.
9. The sliders I got at a food truck downtown!
10. Watching John Green's acceptance speech for The Fault In Our Stars...he was just so happy and giddy and it made me happy and giddy.

I hope you all had a fabulous week and I hope you have a fabulous Monday tomorrow!

Until Next Time,

Morgan

Why Team Sports Are So Important

Hi friends,

So for the past 7 years I have been playing this little sport called volleyball. Throughout these 7 years, every year I have been apart of two teams: my school team and my club team. I can honestly say that these teams have probably prepared me more for life than anything I ever learned in school.

Now I am not saying my education did not matter to me. I am very thankful for my education and I know I have been given many opportunities because of it. However, being a part of a team is something that I truly believe every kid should have to do. Not necessarily a sports team but just some form of a team, because the lessons I have learned through team sports have changed my outlook on life.

When you are a part of a team, you learn to be selfless. You learn that it is not always about you and you must do what is best for the team, even if that means sacrifice on your end.

When you are a part of a team, you learn communication skills that cannot be taught in a classroom. When players are picked to be a team, they don't always have a big say in who else is on that team. Personalities can easily clash but you must find a way to make it work to be successful. You also have to learn how to treat each teammate individually. What works for one person, doesn't necessarily work for the other.

When you are a part of a team, you learn it is okay to be weak sometimes. You learn that you don't always have to do everything on your own. When I step out on a court I know there are 9 girls who have my back as I have theirs. I am not always going to be perfect and that is okay. We are a team for a reason.

When you are a part of a team, you learn hard work pays off. You learn that the hours upon hours you spend in the gym, the time you could be spending with friends or family, will pay off. You know you are working for something and you can't let anything get in the way of you and your goal.

When you are a part of team, you learn that you are going to lose at some point. No matter how great and talented your team is there will be battles and sometimes you won't be on the winning side. You learn how to learn from it and not let it hold you back.

And most importantly, when you are a part of team, you learn what it means to be a family. You learn how to love someone, even when you don't really like them. You learn how to give your teammates what they need and not always what they want.

The list is never ending but these are some of the key things I have learned throughout my years in sports. Every team I have been on has taught me something new. I can't wait to see what new things I will learn at the next level.

To every teammate I have ever had: Thank you for everything, I will love you guys forever.

Until Next Time,

Morgan

Fashion In Television Week #1

Hello Friends,

So this past week I had been thinking about how I wanted to make fashion appear more on this blog. I have always loved fashion but at the moment I don't have the time to go out and shoot my own pictures of my fashion style to share on here. So I decided each week I want to pick a character on television whose style really stands out to me! I personally have a very girly style so I love dresses and bright colors so many of the characters featured on here will probably represent what I wish my closet to look like.

So for week number 1, I have chosen one of my favorite characters on a tv show ever, Carrie, from the Carrie Diaries. Carries's character is extremely girly and that shows through her style. I would describe her look as girly girl meets New York street style. I would die to have all of her clothes in my closet, and I wouldn't mind having her job either. Her outfits are very bright and fun and I would probably wear all of them!

So here are some of my favorite fashion moments of her throughout the show!

As you can see I am quite girly and love bright colors!

Until Next Time,

Morgan

Why I Love Traveling

Hi friends,

So in the past few months I have been traveling places almost every other week. I went to Austin, then a week later I went to London, then two weeks after that I went to Indianapolis, and I just got back less than 24 hours ago from Philadelphia, and I can honestly say I am slightly heartbroken that this past weekend was my last bit of traveling for a few months. I love love love going to different cities and getting to see other cities cultures and the people and just how other people interact.

Every thing about trips and vacations make me happy. It all starts out with the airport. Airports are probably one of my favorite places in the world. It is by far the best place to people watch and it is absolutely mind blowing to me how so many people from all over the world, from all different cultures, are all stuffed in one big building, like just think about all the stories and experiences that are just sitting in that one building. When I take trips I like to get to the airport about two hours early even if I know that it will not take that long to get through security just because I like being at airports. Its comforting and humbling.

After spending a couple hours in my happy place (the airport), then it is time to get on the plane. Everyone has their personal preference for which seat they like whether it be isle, middle, or window (even though I am pretty sure no one likes middle seats) but I always want a window seat. On my trip to london having a window seat was the coolest thing ever. I flew at night so whenever I passed big cities I could just see the cities lights and it was incredible. Also I think drinks and food just taste better when you are flying, and I am almost positive I am the only person in the world that thinks this.

Now after spending hours upon hours in the air, the fun truly begins. Now you get to go and see the city you have been waiting for. My biggest experience with a culture change was during my trip to London but I do believe every city I have been to has it's own unique vibe. I try to eat or at least get coffee at some local place most places I go but that does not always happen. I do this because I think when you do this you can pretend just for a moment that you are in a different life and you can be whoever it is that you want to be. That moment is probably my favorite thing about traveling.

The worst part of trips for me is always coming home, not because I don't like my home, I just rarely want to leave this exciting unknown territory that I just spent time in. However, their is something comforting about the flight home when you can look out the window and see you city and know that you truly are home.

I bit the traveling bug early and I plan to spend the rest of my life traveling around and seeing much more of the world.

What has been your favorite trip you have ever taken? Let me know in the comments section below!

Until Next Time,

Morgan

My Top 5 Youtubers

Hi Friends,

As some of you may know, I love Youtube. It is probably my favorite social media site and takes up a lot of my free time. Many of my friends know that if I say I am going to bed, I really mean I am going to lay in bed and watch about two hours worth of youtube videos.
Youtube has had a big effect on my life and that may sound weird to many of you, but these videos and youtubers have helped inspire me in many different ways, and in some cases have helped me get through some tough stuff and in most cases just put a smile on my face.
I wanted to share with you my top 5 favorite youtubers so if maybe you need something to make you smile or laugh you can always come find their videos.

TOP 5 YOUTUBERS (in no particular order)

1. Carrie Hope Fletcher - ItsWayPastMyBedtime

Carrie has this youtube channel and her blog alliknownow, she is also currently playing Eponine in Les Mis in the West End, and she is about to release her first book. Her channel instantly became one of my favorites after watching only a few videos. She is very honest, open, and real in her videos and she enjoys reading just as much as me so I like hearing her book recommendations. She has many videos about life and what she has learned so far! I really really really really really recommend watching her videos even if you think you don't like youtube videos because I bet she could change your mind.

2. Will Darbyshire

Will is a british filmmaker, youtuber, and has a very popular tumblr page. I started watching his videos when he had only posted two videos, by now he has posted somewhere around 30 and I can truly say I learn something new from every one of his videos. They are thoughtful and insightful and make you realize that there are still some really good people in this world. His videos can be very useful if you are going through something and are looking for something to make you feel like you aren't alone in feeling the way you do.

3. Sam Chaplin - Sam Chaplinify

I recently found Sam's channel and I fell in love instantly. He is so open minded and welcoming in his videos. His video types range from rants to funny little sketches but they are all so good. He also recently tweeted me and talked to me through facebook and he is genuinely so sweet. I would really encourage you to watch his videos because he as well will teach you something new in every video he makes.

4. Jack Harries - JacksGap

JacksGap is one of the most popular channels on youtube however I think there is something very different about his videos from other popular youtube channels. He makes videos about things he really cares about and is really passionate about. Everything he does, he does because he is trying to make the world a better place. He is also very grateful for his viewers. His videos mainly revolve around the different charity projects he does and give people a glimpse of what he spends most of his time doing.

5. Ben Brown - Mr. Ben Brown

Ben Brown is a british daily vlogger who I absolutely love. He is a former professional kayaker ( I don't know if that is what you actually call it) but he travels around and lives this insane adventurous life that I am so completely jealous of. He inspires me to live a healthier lifestyle and to make the most of life. He will motivate and inspire you in more ways than one. I have probably been watching his videos the longest (with the exception of JacksGap) and his videos just get better and better as time goes on.

So if you are ever unsure of how to spend your time or you already watch youtube videos and are looking for new channels I highly recommend watching these people's videos! They are all very talented and you will not regret it.

Until Next Time,

Morgan
